Aurore Liang
Producer, director, Pingshu storyteller, and Beijing Opera performer
Aurore Liang is a cultural entrepreneur, artistic director, and founder of Aurore Liang Artiste et ses collaborateurs. She leads a cosmopolitan team in Quebec that creates interdisciplinary works in which Chinese artistic traditions engage with contemporary Western forms. Through her French-language productions, she develops new theatrical languages that foster cultural exchange and make artistic forms still largely unknown to the general public more accessible.
Originally from Beijing, China, Aurore arrived in Quebec in 2007 and found in this welcoming society a space of freedom that allows her to imagine new ways of expressing and sharing the world’s cultures. Her artistic journey has been shaped by Pingshu (the Chinese art of storytelling), Beijing Opera, and contemporary theater. Trained in international project management at the École supérieure de commerce de Paris (ESCP), she combines an entrepreneurial vision with artistic sensibility to develop and produce cultural projects where cultures converge.
She oversees the strategic direction, production, partnership development, and promotion of her creations. Her interdisciplinary performances, Beijing Opera productions, and cultural engagement projects have been presented at festivals, cultural centers, municipal venues, and libraries in Quebec and France. She is committed to making her organization a leading Quebec-based institution in intercultural creation.
