Inspired by one of literature’s greatest masterpieces, this story follows the Buddhist monk Tripitaka on an epic pilgrimage to the West in search of sacred texts capable of bringing peace and happiness to his people. Along this path fraught with pitfalls and mysteries, his destiny intertwines with that of three disciples possessing extraordinary powers: the flamboyant and unruly Monkey King, the gluttonous Bajie, and the faithful Wujing. Each, haunted by a past transgression, seeks a path to redemption.
