The Show

Once upon a time, in the golden pages of the
world's literature, there lived an ancient and marvelous tale, known under the
name of “Journey to the West”, with its great hero, the
Monkey King. This glittering gem, one of the masterpieces of 16th-century Chinese literature, has stood the test of time, enchanting the hearts of children and adults alike, and is cherished by nearly a quarter of Asia's population.

Our show invites you to immerse yourself in this fascinating
epic. You'll discover the extraordinary birth
of the Monkey King, a creature driven by an insatiable thirst for magic and power. But alas, despite his immeasurable power, he remains in the shadows, unappreciated and underestimated by the mighty Jade Emperor. The Monkey King's anger erupts like a raging storm, driving him to confront the celestial warriors in a battle of epic proportions.

This show is also a unique opportunity to discover four traditional Chinese arts:

Pingshu, the ancestral art of storytelling; the Guzheng, a thousand-year-old instrument with spellbinding melodies; Beijing opera, China's elite art form; and shadow theatre, where silhouettes tell stories as the lights flicker. In this way, the show harmonizes the modernity of contemporary Western theatre with timeless Chinese traditions.
